Upgrading Pearl City’s Original Windows

Pearl City grew quickly in the 1960s and 70s, and many homes from that era still have their original single-pane aluminum or jalousie windows. After 50-plus years, those windows usually have corroded frames, worn-out rollers and locks that don’t catch. They also let in a lot of heat, noise and dust. Replacing them is one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make to an older home.

Wondering whether vinyl is the right replacement? Our vinyl vs. aluminum windows guide walks through the differences.

Hillside Homes and Views

Homes in Pacific Palisades, Pearl City Highlands and Momilani often look out toward Pearl Harbor. Large picture windows and sliders with Low-E glass keep that view while cutting the afternoon heat coming through the glass. Upper neighborhoods also get more rain and wind than homes down by the harbor, so good weatherstripping matters.

Pearl City Neighborhoods We Serve

We work throughout Pearl City, including Pacific Palisades, Momilani, Pearl City Highlands, Manana, Waiau, Pearl City Peninsula and the area around Pearlridge. We also serve neighboring Aiea and Waipahu.

Security and Airflow

Many Pearl City homeowners like to leave doors and windows open for the breeze. A security screen door makes that safer, and modern windows come with secure locks that old jalousies never had.

Pearl City Window FAQs

Will new windows really make my house quieter?

Yes. Replacing single-pane glass with dual-pane windows and tight seals makes a clear difference, especially for street and air traffic noise.

Can new windows fit my older home’s openings?

Yes. Every window is made to the measurements we take, so non-standard openings in older homes aren’t a problem.
